Peregal O-50/100 is polymerized from natural fatty alcohols (C₁₆~C₁₈) and ethylene oxide (EO), belonging to the high-polymerization-degree representative products of the Peregal series. Its most prominent structural feature is the extremely long polyoxyethylene (PEO) chain segment—Peregal O-50 has an EO adduct number of about 50, and Peregal O-100 about 100. This ultra-long hydrophilic chain endows the product with strong steric hindrance stabilization capability, enabling it to exhibit system stability in emulsification, dispersion, and leveling applications that is difficult to match with conventional nonionic surfactants.
In terms of physical and chemical morphology, Peregal O-50 is a white to slightly yellowish waxy solid, readily soluble in hot water but dispersible in cold water; Peregal O-100 is a white to slightly yellowish flake or granular solid, easily soluble in water forming a transparent solution. Both are typical O/W nonionic emulsifiers, non-toxic, non-irritating to skin, with excellent biodegradability, meeting the sustainable development requirements of modern green chemistry. Their extremely low foaming makes them especially suitable for industrial operations requiring strict foam control, such as circulating pumping and spray cleaning.
The core difference between Peregal O-50 and O-100 lies in the length of the EO chain: O-100 has a higher cloud point and stronger hydrophilicity, particularly suitable for high-temperature systems such as high-temperature and high-pressure dyeing of polyester; O-50 performs better in medium-temperature processes and applications requiring a moderate hydrophilic-lipophilic balance. Textile Dyeing and Finishing: Leveraging its high cloud point advantage, Peregal O-100 is an ideal leveling agent for high-temperature and high-pressure dyeing of polyester and acrylic fibers, effectively preventing color unevenness and spotting; Peregal O-50 is suitable for medium-temperature blended fabric dyeing and pre-treatment scouring/penetration of cotton fabrics. Both can also be used as soaping agents and wool detergents.
Emulsion Polymerization and Pesticide Formulations: Used as an O/W emulsifier and polymerization stabilizer in systems such as vinyl acetate and acrylate; in pesticide emulsifiable concentrates, aqueous emulsions, and microemulsions, it provides strong steric stabilization, ensuring long-term uniform suspension after dilution.
Industrial Cleaning and Metalworking: Used in low-foam metal cleaners, semi-synthetic cutting fluids, rolling oil emulsifiers, and anti-rust emulsifiable oils, offering excellent degreasing, cooling, lubrication, and anti-rust functions.
Cosmetics and Personal Care: As an O/W emulsifier for creams and lotions and a cream stabilizer, Peregal O-100 can also be used for efficient solubilization of fragrances and lipophilic active ingredients.
Paper and Leather: Used in waste paper deinking, AKD size emulsification, pitch control, as well as leather soaking and degreasing processes.
