Pingpingjia O-50/100 (fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene ether) is a high-polymerization-degree nonionic surfactant, appearing as a white to slightly yellow solid at room temperature. The melting point of Pingpingjia O-50 is approximately 40~45°C, and that of Pingpingjia O-100 is approximately 45~50°C. Both require dissolution before being added to the formulation system.
When dissolving, it is recommended to slowly add the product to hot water at 40~60°C while stirring continuously until completely dissolved, forming a transparent or slightly turbid solution, and then mix evenly with other formulation components. Due to its longer EO chain (about 100 EO units) and higher HLB value (about 18.5), Pingpingjia O-100 has strong hydrophilicity and can also be dispersed and dissolved directly in room temperature water; Pingpingjia O-50 has an HLB value of about 16.5, and it is more recommended to use hot water for dissolution to ensure complete dissolution. During the dissolution process, excessive foam should be avoided. Fortunately, Pingpingjia O-50/100 itself is a low-foaming product, making the operation more convenient.
Since the process conditions of different application scenarios (such as water hardness, temperature, acid-base environment, type and amount of oil phase) vary greatly, Guoli Chemical recommends determining the optimal addition amount and dissolution conditions suitable for the specific process through small-scale tests to ensure ideal usage effects and economy.
