PEG-10 Stearate (SG-10) (PEG-10 stearate) is a classic nonionic fatty acid polyoxyethylene ester surfactant. Comprehensive toxicological assessment shows its high safety: acute oral toxicity is of low toxicity (rat LD50 > 5,000 mg/kg), 5% dilution is non-irritating to skin, non-sensitizing, non-genotoxic, and readily biodegradable. Nevertheless, in practical operations, it should be noted that the pure product causes mild reversible eye irritation, which is the most important aspect to be concerned about during use.

In daily use, it is recommended that operators wear chemical safety goggles, impermeable gloves, and appropriate protective clothing. The workplace should be well ventilated to avoid the formation of inhalable dust or aerosols. Eating, drinking, and smoking are prohibited during operation. After operation and before eating, hands and exposed skin should be thoroughly washed.
